Wellbeing at OLOR

 January Newsletter 2020

Forest Area

During Spring 2019 our Forest Area was completed. This bespoke space is now accessible to all pupils. The area is used to promote wellbeing with pupils, staff and families. It is also used for prayer and meditation, boot camp and mentoring sessions.

A bespoke log cabin has been constructed, 12 tree stems were installed in the area for children to climb, sit and crawl under. The whole area has been wood chipped. The area has tunnels, bridges and a retaining wall to jump off and seating areas.

During Autumn 2019 a new barrier 5ft fence was construction and the area was enlarged. A rope swing was constructed, trees planted and further log, rope and den building areas were designed

Attendance & Punctuality

Attendance and Punctuality

school-bellThe morning bell is rung at 8.55a.m. for the start of the school day.

When the Year 3,4,5 and 6 children arrive, from 8.45am onwards they are expected to be on the Infant School playground, which is supervised by a member of staff.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are expected to be supervised by an adult on the Junior Playground until the bell is rung. The children will line up by class and be met by the teacher who will bring them into school.

A notice will be displayed at the front of school if the weather is adverse and children are then permitted to directly go into their own classrooms from 8.45am onwards.

If a child arrives at school after 9.00am they should sign the Late Book outside the Secretary’s Office, after entering the school via the front door.

If your child will be absent from school, please ensure you ring the School

Office to inform us before 9.15am.  Messages may be left on the answer machine.

In cases of sickness and diarrhoea children must remain at home for 48 hours after the last time they displayed any symptoms.

The school will not authorise any holidays taken during school time. Notification of planned absences must be recorded on the School Form and submitted to the Headteacher. Absences will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.

Penalty notices will be issued by Trafford's Educational Welfare Team for 8 missed sessions (4 days) unauthorised by the Headteacher.
