Our Lady of the Rosary RC Primary school is part of a Comenius Multilateral Partnership, known as 'The Changing World of Children.' The schools involved in this project are Croftway Primary School Northumberland, St. Ignatius Primary School Malta, Espacios Educativos S.C.M. -Colegio Valle del Miro Spain, Plesso "Livio Tempesta" - Istituto Comprensivo Centro Italy and Kenan Cetinel Primary School Turkey.

The aim of the project is to encourage the children to think of ways to look after the environment and our local countryside. They will also learn how our European partner schools recognise how they can make changes to the world around them and the impact of their actions.

In November we hosted the first visit for our Partner Countries involved in the 2013-2015 Comenius project.Teachers and pupils from Spain and Malta, as well as staff from Italy and the co-ordinating school in Northumberland stayed in Manchester from 25th-29th November. The visitors were shown around our school and took part in an assembly to introduce the project to our parents and pupils.  Additionally they undertook activities in and around the city centre, including visiting Old Trafford, the Christmas Markets and watching a European game at the Etihad.

In June all partner countries met at St Ignatius College Siġġiewi Primary for the second project meeting. The project entitled 'The Changing World of Children' compares and contrasts the various landscapes of the participating countries. This is being done through a multilanguage dictionary with terms related to nature, mascots to represent each school, postcard exchange, a Comenius project corner in each school, creative use of recycled material for crafts, nature walls, nature song book and a calendar. It also discusses ways and means how to make this world a better place through ecology education at school and types of renewable energy. The Project Ceremony took place at Ġuże' Delia Hall at Siġġiewi Primary on Wednesday 11th June.

The ceremony included 'Catch the Drop' songs and videos, emphasising the need to reduce the use of water, amongst other commodities. The highlight was the participation of Kristina Casolani, courtesy of Green MT, with her song 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle', the official song chosen by the Maltese school for the project.
